Acne might be common during adolescence, but that doesn't mean your teenager should simply have to put up with it. When breakouts are persistent, painful or difficult to cover, they can begin to affect far more than the skin. You may notice your teenager avoiding photos, covering their face with their hair, becoming uncomfortable without makeup or pulling away from activities they once enjoyed. They might dread school photos, parties, swimming, sleepovers or simply being looked at too closely.
Some teenagers begin checking their skin every time they pass a mirror. Others stop looking altogether. And even when they insist they do not care, you may be able to see that their confidence has changed.
The Teen Skin and Gut Program provides your family with a clear, personalised path forward. This is not a one off appointment, a restrictive acne diet or another generic skincare routine. It is a supported clinical program in which I work alongside your teenager to understand what may be influencing their skin, identify what is worth investigating and adjust their treatment as their body responds.
We begin with an in depth consultation exploring your teenager’s skin, digestion, nutrition, hormones, stress, sleep, medications and skincare history.
Your teenager receives a clear, individualised plan focused on the factors most relevant to their skin, health and everyday life.
Your teenager receives practical guidance around nutrition, digestion, skincare, sleep and stress, with individualised nutritional or herbal recommendations where appropriate.
Recommendations are designed around school, sport, sensory needs, social life and the foods your teenager will actually eat. No perfection or extreme restrictions required.
We review their progress, discuss test results, troubleshoot challenges and adjust the treatment plan as their skin and broader health respond.
Your teenager finishes with a practical plan covering what to continue, how to manage future flares and when additional investigation or support may be needed.
For teenagers experiencing ongoing constipation, bloating, abdominal discomfort or changes in their bowel habits, a comprehensive gut microbiome test may be recommended as an optional addition to the program.
This at home stool test provides a deeper look at the gut environment and may help identify patterns relating to microbial diversity, digestive function, inflammation and how well the gut is supporting nutrient absorption and overall health.
The cost of testing are additional to the program fee.

Where appropriate, I can recommend relevant blood testing and review the results as part of your teenager’s care. Testing may be arranged through their GP or completed privately, with any private pathology fees paid separately.
